The shape of a melody.
Description
The shape of a melody. eg. Smooth, angular, flat/static.
A combination of intervals combine to create various melodies:
- Steps - A second
- Skips - A third
- Leaps - Anything larger than a 3rd
- Repeated notes - The melodies stays on the same note.
E.g. “The flute melody ascends mainly by step” (or leap, or repeats).
